World Chariot Races + Easter + Color Festival + Families + Easter picnic on the mountains + taking a little boy with us = ONE AMAZING WEEKEND!!!!
We got to my parents house and Aiden made himself right at home. He LOVED my mom and sisters. He called my mom and dad Grandma and Grandpa...not sure how my dad took it, but my mom loved being called a grandma. We ate and then went to the rec center for a game of wallyball. Aiden was the secret weapon. No matter how the teams were split up, whoever had him on their team won.
| Aiden and I woke up early Saturday morning and made waffles from scratch and dyed them a bunch of fun colors. |
| Super Yummy |
| Too early to be up. |
Then off we went to Brigham City to the Baugh family Easter picnic and egg hunt. We left a little bit early because Aiden LOVES jets especially the Blue Angels. So we surprised him by stopping off at the Hill Airforce Base Museum
| I am pretty sure Aiden has the whole movie of Top Gun memorized. He had my whole family watching it and my sister flying paper blue angels around the house playing Top Gun. I didn't know this, but Mavrick's plane number is #411 so Aiden got super excited when he saw this plane!! |
Brad found a blue angel jet at the gift shop and bought it for Aiden. He was so excited!! For the rest of the weekend that plane was with him every second of the day.
We made it up to my grandparent's farm. Once again Aiden wasn't shy and started talking to all my aunts and uncles and showing everyone his new plane. It was so fun having him with us.

| Getting ready for the easter egg hunt!! So excited |
| After the egg hunt. He got so much candy and lots of fun toys |
| Yummy Lunch |
After the picnic Brad took Aiden to a Jazz game and I took my sisters to the color festival in Spanish Fork.
Before the Jazz game we were out of luck trying to find Aiden and Jazz shirt. So when they got to the game Brad's mom found a Jersey that she bought for him. She said that when he put that jersey on his eyes were so wide and was so excited. He LOVED the Jazz game and we are happy to report that we have converted him to be a Jazz fan instead of the Lakers.
At the Jazz game Aiden wanted cotton candy. He asked the lady how much it was and when she told him, without skipping a beat, he told her that that was way to much. He ended up talking her down two dollars. After eating half of the bag he told Brad that he wasn't going to eat anymore because he wanted to save some for me. Awww so sweet!!!
| He looks so tired. Had a long, but super fun day! |
| At City Creek Mall before the Jazz game |
Saturday night before we all went to bed I was talking to Aiden about the Easter Bunny. He knew who he was, but didn't know what he did. He thought he might have left messages for the kids. He said he never had the Easter Bunny come before. So I was super excited for that next morning.
| It was so fun to see him go through his easter basket. He totally got spoiled. He got a blue ball, bubbles, sticky hand, chocolate bunny, new clothes, GI-JO toy, basket ball hoop (the kind that sticks to the window) with a basketball, bubbles, a shovel and bucket...I can't remember the rest. |
After he went through his basket we had another easter egg hunt. He got most of the eggs. The easter bunny added gold dollars to some of the eggs. Aiden ended up getting the most money too. He loved all the stuff he got. He played basketball for at least an hour. Saying all the phrases that Amanda taught him at the Jazz game the night before.
We said goodbye to my family and headed to Ogden to watch Brad's grandpa race at Worlds. |
We stopped off to see my favorite horse KC before we went to sit and watch the races. Aiden fell in love.
***Side note- He's wearing his new outfit. Doesn't he look so cute? |
We had to take KC to the walker and Rober let Aiden ride him while walked over there. He was pretty scared but was pretty proud of himself for riding a huge race horse.
**Side note: I took Aiden to the Kid's festival two weeks after he rode KC and at the fair they had little miniature ponies and I asked Aiden if he wanted to ride one, he looked at me and said, "No! They aren't big like KC" |
| KC is his favorite horse. He occasionally mentions him at work and asks how he is doing. I just LOVE this picture!! |
Bringing my favorite horse of all times back from the walker.
We had a super fun weekend. I am so grateful that I was able to bring Aiden along with me. It was so fun to have a little kid around. I literally had withdrawals for the next couple of days after we dropped him off. I can't wait for the day when Brad and I will have our own kids and we get to experience all this stuff with them, and I won't have to take them home to someone else. |
